Welcome to the Whamburg blog! Today we are here to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about our menu.
First up, are our beef patties gluten free? Yes! Our ground beef is 100% Angus beef, and only salt and pepper are added to it. So, you can enjoy our delicious burgers without worrying about gluten.
But what about our French fries? Unfortunately, they are not gluten-free. Our fries have a clear coat that contains wheat. However, we use liquid shortening made from canola oil to fry them, along with our fried chicken sandwiches and the Chik-P-Burg.
If you are looking for gluten-free options, we do have the O’Doughs 100% gluten-free/vegan bun available for an extra charge. We prepare all our gluten-free burgers on a separate worktop, and our staff members always dispose of their gloves and wash their hands before preparing the burger.
For our vegetarian or vegan customers, we offer the Chik-P-Burg. It’s made with a blend of chickpeas, cilantro, and spices. You can swap out the Martin’s potato bun for our vegan/gluten-free bun to make it vegan.
If you are wondering what kind of meat blend we use, it’s our signature 100% Canadian Angus beef. We source it for its flavor, tenderness, and marbling, and it’s bred and raised on Canadian soil to ensure we support local farmers.
For those who love our Wham Spice, it’s made with a blend of kosher salt, black pepper, dried parsley, chili flakes, roasted garlic, and red pepper. And, our Wham Sauce is mayo-based (contains eggs), with tomato paste, mustard, pickles, and spices.
Our cheese options are limited to classic American cheese, which is processed.
All of our chicken menu items are halal, but unfortunately, our ground beef is not. However, our beef bacon is halal.
If you are looking for our nutritional information, we don’t have it yet. But, it is one of our long-term goals to have nutritional information available for all our menu items.
We are a counter service, fast-casual restaurant, so unfortunately, we don’t take reservations. Tables are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
We don’t have a kids’ menu, but our Wham burger is a single burger that is perfect for children.
If you are coming to dine-in, there is paid street parking available throughout California Street between University and Wyandotte. And, we are located at 401 California Avenue, right on campus at the University of Windsor. Look for the flag at the corner of California and Fanchette.
Lastly, if you are ordering online, the item number is set up to differentiate between every burger and combo. Simply provide a unique number for each burger and combo, which can be found on the receipt you receive with the order to help differentiate between each item.
