That means our delicious smash burgers, fries, and shakes are going tax-free for a limited time! Here’s what you need to know.

What Is the GST/HST Holiday?

The GST/HST holiday is a federal initiative to help Canadians save a little extra during the holiday season and beyond. It cuts out sales tax on certain “qualifying goods,” including:

  • Kids’ clothing, shoes, and diapers
  • Printed books (but not most magazines or journals)
  • Christmas trees
  • Some toys for kids under 14, like board games and dolls
  • All food and drinks—including restaurant meals!

Essentially, all food in Canada will be tax-free for the next two months. For you, this means anything you order at Whamburg, comes with no added tax. So, whether you’re grabbing a bite for yourself, or treating your coworkers for the season, your total will be a bit lighter on the wallet.

How Does It Work at Whamburg?

It’s simple: from December 14, 2024, to February 15, 2025, the GST/HST will automatically be removed when you order. That means no math, no hassle—just order your favourite smash burger, fries, or shake, and the price you see on the menu is what you’ll pay.

So if you’ve been meaning to try out some of our newer items like the Whaco, dining in or grabbing takeout, your total will feel a little sweeter with this tax-free deal.
